The 70‘s is revered with misconception by some as a mish-mash of scenes joined together by previous decades and the global affect of sea-farers importing music from far off lands including the biggest haul of music from the USA . Whereas the musicians, artists and pub/club goers I interviewed will tell another story, there was more to music on Merseyside in the 70‘s than the media and some will have us believe - it did lay the foundation to the following decade when Liverpool was remapped with a flurry of signed bands.
This second book is like the first - told by people who were there, wore the proverbially tee-shirt and fought hard to make a living, let alone be recognised. During my stay at the University of Liverpool I did meet, learn a lot from my fellow students, tutors and IPM directors – who were from all over the globe who had varying ideals/outlooks on Merseyside music, this in turn created many debates, which gave me a less blinkered view of my hometown plus the music we created
